The Manning Regional Art Gallery exhibition of “The Forgotten Works of Pixie O’Harris” runs from January 23 to March 8, 2020. It is the culmination of great vision and efforts of those who recognised the importance of the collection which was originally commissioned for the Manning Hospital reopening after refurbishing in 1957, and almost lost in storage many years later. Many will have fond memories of seeing the works if you spent time at the hospital during this era.

Over many months, a dedicated team of local Art and Heritage enthusiasts have gathered, restored and now curated this wonderful exhibition of the entire 25 works which will form the focus and backdrop for our first meeting for 2020 in February. We will hear about the journey from Janine Roberts, Penny Teerman and Sue Mitchell who have been the driving force to bring the collection back together and have it displayed for all to enjoy, and learn about a little of our local heritage.

Due to the special nature of this meeting there are a couple of departures from our usual meeting structure. It will be held on Thursday February 20 (rather than the last Thursday), and once again we have the good fortune to meet at the Manning Regional Art Gallery with catering by the exceptional FOGS (Friends of the Gallery) team, supported by the wonderful gallery staff. The catering cost will be $30 per head. This will be our 5th time being hosted by the Gallery which has always proven to be a fabulous evening. We do have to limit numbers due to the space restrictions, so note the earlier RSVP time.
