Wishing all our netters a very Happy New Year! And hope that 2020 did not cause you too much inconvenience.

We have discussed our prospects for 2021 and this message is to keep you all aware of what our current thinking is.

As we are awaiting the announcement of the relaxing of Covid-19 related rules, we are still of the opinion that we need to err on the side of caution and have decided not to hold a February meeting. We certainly want to work with the club venues in abiding by their Covid-safe rules, so another deciding factor is that, although the November meeting was a pleasant evening, the requirement that everyone had to remain seated, thus restricting ‘networking’ opportunities, is not in keeping with the core purpose of our group.

However, do not despair. We do have some great speaker prospects which, after the loosening of restriction, we anticipate we may be able to start the 2021 season with a 25 March meeting at the Wingham Services Club.

 With this flexible approach necessary under the current operating conditions, the usual half yearly program will not be produced. Instead, we will only notify those of you on our email list in our usual monthly blurb whether Covid restrictions will indeed permit a meeting and, if so, of the intended guest speaker. This should allow us to easily accommodate any rule changes from time to time.
