Kate Dunn – Allied Health Community Connector

  • CLUB TAREE 121 Wingham Road Taree, NSW, 2430 Australia (map)

A new role to attract and keep allied health professionals in town is being facilitated by Kate Dunn. The role is designed to help health professionals and their families to find a ‘fit’ and to stay long-term - not solely to the benefit of the local health care scene but also for the wider MidCoast community.

It will be wonderful to hear about the initiative so many people have worked towards to make this position of ‘Connector’ possible.

Kate will provide some background to her new position and also briefly talk about her life journey so far. She was involved in the setup of ‘Finns Accommodation’ in Old Bar, welcoming over 6000 guests per year to our region. After building a small team to help with the day-to-day operations of that business, Kate is excited about having the opportunity to move onto a new challenge and especially in a role which has the potential to make a positive difference to wellbeing on the MidCoast. Kate comments that, although the position of Connector is only relatively new, a huge need for allied health professionals in the area had previously been identified. Many people who have already started work in the area over the last 6 months have sought assistance with settling in and making connections.
