Sally Crawford - Achiever and Mountain Climber

  • Club Taree 121 Wingham Road Taree, NSW, 2430 Australia (map)

Sally Crawford grew up in Taree but moved to Sydney in her mid-teens. Her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Sydney paved the way for her to tutor in philosophy at Macquarie University.

Clearly a reader and thinker, perhaps it’s not surprising that, for many years, she owned a book shop.

Sally returned to Taree in 2015 where she joined the Manning Base Hospital Board and was Chair for many years.

To keep fit and healthy, Sally was also a walker and runner. She was part of the team that won the inaugural Oxfam 100km walk, raising funds for charity in the process. Interestingly, she also ran the year 2000 inaugural Olympic marathon route to test its suitability for the Games that followed.

But how and when did Sally become fascinated with climbing mountains and what discoveries and lessons did she learn along the way? Come along to find out.

Please go to the ‘about’ page for cost and requirements under ‘Our Usual Format’ heading
