Our June Speaker – Ali Haigh:

Ali Haigh, who you may know from her time with the Manning Regional Art Gallery and is now out doing lots of interesting things.

She is a contemporary Australian printmaker and designer who draws inspiration from the patterns and shapes found in nature in her home surroundings on the Mid North Coast. She reimagines designs from these sources to produce her prints. Her designs are printed “on everyday objects such as the humble teatowel to bring a touch of magic to the mundane.”

 More recently, Ali has been Project Arts Coordinator during the development of the First Steps Count Centre. This has included creation of the tiled wall mural where she enabled people of all ages and painting abilities to collaborate in this appealing integrated design. Additionally, Ali has been involved in art installations at the Taree Universities Campus new home in the building formerly occupied by Council.
